User Centered Design

The goal of the Usability services team is to make the product a lot more consumable. This is done by making the product intuitive and simple to use. Products which are easy to use are a lot more competitive in the market place. Usability shortens the training and learning time and reduces product support cost. This improves the customer loyalty with the product.

User centric design, particularly when applied during the early stages of product development, reduces the overall product development costs. 

UCD Process

Clarice offers the following key User Centered Design services:

User Research:

  • Involves understanding of users environment, tasks and workflow
  • Uses direct and indirect observation methods to understand users stated and unstated needs
  • Deliverables includes detailed study of user personas, task flows & environment characteristics

User Interface Design:

  • Analysis of user requirements to evolve information architecture & navigation paradigm
  • Iterative design process by involving all the key stakeholders to develop intuitive & viable interaction model
  • Deliverables include - wireframes with interaction workflows and detailed screen design with GUI components
  • Final iteration is a finished screen mockup with all visual design elements – color, icons & graphical properties

Usability Testing:

  • Qualitative or quantitative methods to measure efficacy of user interface designed
  • Testing multiple users with task flows identified in user research phase provides effective feedback
  • Usability testing on wireframes can avoid costly errors early in the product development cycle
  • Deliverables include recommendations for improving the UI in short term &long term
