Interaction Design:

Goal of Interaction or User-Interface design is to make user interaction as simple and efficient as possible, in terms of accomplishing user tasks or goals. Ideally, when user is using software tools, he should be able to use them without any additional learning or training required. Good user interface design facilitates finishing the task at hand without drawing unnecessary attention to UI elements. Following three elements are key to successful interaction design:

• Intuitive information architecture that helps user quickly understand product structure and navigation map
• Consistency at various levels
• Latency reduction – quick & continuous response

Interaction design typical involves lot of paper sketching, whiteboard markings, but there are several tools available.
